That's poor. The guy maybe genuine in he may know nothing about it but to be fair I check everything before selling, even stuff i know little about.

Own: Jaguar, Lynx, Dreamcast, Saturn, MegaDrive, MegaCD, 32X, GameGear, PS3, PS, PSP, Wii, GameCube, N64, DS, GBA, GBC, GBP, GB,  Xbox, 3DO, CDi,  WonderSwan, WonderSwan Colour NGPC

Well, this guy has an Amiga related store, it's not that he don't know about it..

He even respond a couple of times (and a third response arrived saying the same!) saying that the damage could have been caused during transit, that these machines are old, the postman does not treat the package well etc... but I never saw a postman unscrewing all the screws of a console and part of the controller ones. He must think I was born yesterday or something.

He's willing to send some screws (yes!) and a lens replacement but if I accept, change it and it does not work again I'm afraid he's going to say that I damaged the console. As I said I can't trust in an Amiga store that sends the machines without screws. When I think about it I don't know if to laugh or to cry... :'(

Hope things work out Alberto.

Just picked one up, just the console. No controllers or psu for £22.

Hope it works ok once I get the other bits.

Bummer because CD32 controllers are REALLY expensive from what I hear

AmigaJay

The pro controllers are yes, the standard albeit crappy ones aren't too much, usually better getting a system with controllers as works out cheaper...

Bloody ebay is getting on my nerves with the stupid prices now, cd32 games on their now for £520! Who the fuck do these sellers think they are..Slightest news of a rare game and they boost the price to stupid levels...

Does that refer to the CD32, the controller, those sellers or all of them?  ;D

Greyfox

The controller and rip off me chants only, the console itself is great, but the CDrom drive is dog slow, only 2x not fast enough .

AmigaJay

To be fair 2x was the fastest drives around at the time, even the Neo Geo CD released in 1994 in Europe had a 1x drive!
But yeah disappointing C= USA dragged the rest of the company under, certainly didn't see enough support for the cd32 after the big C went, would have loved to add that 030 add on card to my setup!

To save hijacking Atari threads, thought I'd start a proper CD32 thread (sorry if there's already one)
To carry on from the other thread, that most CD32 games were Amiga ports, yes that's correct in most cases but a few games were CD32 only/or hit the machine first before being ported back to the A1200.

Microcosm - CD32 Amiga only
Litil Divil - CD32 Amiga only
Castles 2 - CD32 Amiga only
Diggers - CD32 first before A1200 port
The Final Gate - CD32 Only
Flink - CD32 Amiga only.
Guardian - CD32 first before A1200 port
Labyrinth of time - CD32 Amiga only
Liberation - Captive 2 - CD32 first before A1200 port.
Nick Faldos Golf - CD32 verson only AGA version.
Pirates Gold! - CD32 Amiga only.
Ultimate Body Blows - CD32 only package.
Roadkill - CD32 first before A1200 port.
CD32 Sports Football - CD32 only
Wendetta 2175 - CD32 Only
Defender of the crown 2 - CD32/CDTV only

Other games were developed in parallel with the A1200 version I.e Banshee even though people think its still a port when it's not.

Obviously loads of games had more levels, intros, cd music and quicker loading than the Amiga original that added to the overall experience. Games like Simon the sorcerer and Beneath a steel sky added speech to the adventures that could never be done on floppy disks.

The cancelled CD32 games list has over 100 games that makes for sad viewing too.
