Cheers for that Laird, been a while since I've read them...well 20 years I suppose!
Again sad reading all the games that never happened, would have loved Lionheart and No Second Prize on CD32!

Never realized how much it looks like the Genesis/Mega Drive. Cut the system in half leaving the dome with the 32bit and what does it look like?

Maybe this is the love child of the 16-bit Sega and the Sega CD?

Speaking from an outside perspective, I think the whole problem with these is that there's not a whole lot of reason to own one besides convenience. Sure, you've got less loading times and none of that disc swapping that gets me all grumbly when I play Amiga games, but that's pretty much the only reason.

I won't deny that the new music on some of the enhanced versions is pretty great, and some of the FMV cutscenes, as badly animated as they tended to be. But it's sort of like the Sega CD... a lot of the new games on there were just the old games, just with music and an FMV cutscene or two. And that's fine and all, but that's pretty much like 90% of the library. It's a shame it never really caught on before they got more exclusives. More stuff on the level of, say, Sonic CD, or even an FMV game or two would have been pretty nice.

I will say, though, the stuff they picked to make into CD versions were generally good picks, so a lot of the library is pretty fun to play through. Not sure who the dumbass who made Dangerous Streets the pack-in was, though.

You think that an Amiga upgrade that utilized a controller with more than one button for once would be great for fighting games.

...You'd think.
