Nice little books just like the one about the Atari 2600 sports games.  :)

Going to the final frontier, gaming...

Well, I have finally made the leap from Atari to Nintendo and after a number of dead ends, I have now placed an order with Nintendo UK for the SNES Classic Mini. I won’t physically get my hands on it till the 25th Jan 2018 at the earliest but I am looking forward to discovering the world according to Link. Pictures will follow 😀

Cool! I played mine a bit over the holidays and there's some great games on it.

Cryptic33

Thanks guys.

Yes, the mini is a great way to introduce people to the SNES. I’ve always wanted to play Zelda and I can now see for myself what all the fuss was about with StarFox. That said, there are quite a few good games on this system so I feel it is good value for money and 16-bit games are more pleasing to the eye and more engaging than the Atari Flashback offerings by a long way. This will be my year of discovery, retro style 😉

Nice. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a SNES classic and it's great. A few games on there that were never released in my region, some games I didn't have also. (And obviously one game never released)

As close to the real thing as you can get, and looks great naturally on a modern TV. If you were to get those games individually at today's prices, you'd pay a lot more.

That is my logic. I loved my Atari 8-bit computer and the incredible games for it but the leap to 16-bit back then was far too expensive for me. So, even though I had played a little on a friend’s MegaDrive, I never got to try out a SNES so this is a perfect introduction for me and let’s face it, Nintendo are probably the best at making games you want to play over and over. 😀

Not sure if the PSP is really retro but it doesn't feel modern either so I'm putting this here.

I bought a PSP very late in it's life and mostly just downloaded PS1 games to play on it, so I decided it was time to start building the collection for it. Great time to do it too as the game prices are really cheap!

Saturn

Great pick ups Shadowrunner! 8)

I got in 3 clear cart Jaguar games the other day. Astrostorm (2017 updated version), Escape 2042 & a combo pack of Jeff Minter Classics. Llamatron 2112/Revenge of the Mutant Camels. This combo pack has taken 90% of the time I've been able to play. Insanely fun 8)
No pics yet though.

Cool, the Jeff Minter Collection is one I'd like to get. :)

Cryptic33

Nice Shadowrunner 👍🏻

And that sounds like some great game Saturn, I have a few Jeff Minter cartridges which I hope to get down and dirty with over the coming weeks.

Meantime...

Very nice! I've never tried Gem Race but Tube SE and Fallen Angels are both great games.
