These are not really purchases but items I got from a junk box exchange...

To quote Skyrim traders "Some call this junk. Me, I call them treasures."

My RPG Friday bundle just arrived from Limited Run. Haven't unwrapped as I'm saving that for an unboxing video, but pretty cool to get my hands on Ys Origin and Asdivine Hearts!

Very cool.  I have to take pictures of my PRGE haul, which was rather large!  Never mind some additional stuff I also got in the mail!

I can finally post some of the stuff from PRGE!  I had some carts autographed and got some new games as well.  I'm only posting some stuff here.  The rest can be seen in here: TrekMD's Collection.

It sure is!  Cool to meet these guys.  I don't even own an Odyssey 2 but the game is too well known to miss the chance.  I found that boxed game for $8 at the Expo.

It's been a while since I've been able to report a new retro purchase, but I just bought Gun.Smoke for the NES. It's a top-down vertically scrolling shoot-'em-up by Capcom based on the American Wild West. Given that the genre is mostly dominated by space shooters, I like to find the outliers that find ways to apply familiar shoot-'em-up mechanics to atypical settings. Once I get some game time under my belt, I'll come back with my first impressions.

I have heard of that game for the NES.  In fact, I think it's one of those in the Let's Compare section of the forum.

I just added all of Impression Games' city-builders to my collection: Pharaoh, Zeus and Caesar. Nostalgia led me to buy them, and I still enjoy the hell out of them 20 years later.

Nice. That's the idea: When it comes to the best retro games, usually we find that whatever we liked about them 10 or 20 years ago still holds up today. By the way, welcome! If this is your first time here, why don't you leave us an Introduction? Good to meet you, Katastrophic.

That's a great game! (I did s let's play for it) Was lucky enough to snag myself a copy a while ago for NES. I'll also say that the full arcade version is on the Capcom Classics Collection for PS2 / Xbox. (I got the PS2 version recently and it's very good) If I was at home I'd post a picture of them, maybe will do later.  :)
