Here is a rather interesting Kickstarter, the RetroClarity HDTV Adapter.  The RetroClarity is a simple plug-and-play solution that lets you connect your classic consoles to HDTV's for amazing video quality.

You can use the RetroClarity on many of your favorite classic gaming consoles, like the Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, and Turbografx-16. It provides amazing video quality presented on today's HDTV sets in 240p(NTSC)/288p(PAL) standard definition resolution in component (YPbPr) video. (Please note: The RetroClarity will only work with HDTVs that support 240p(NTSC)/288p(PAL) resolution and all CRTs with component video inputs)

Cool project, but pretty limited market I would think. To get everything to be able to use it with all the systems it supports is $200, and that's still only a handful of consoles. Good for people who only have those systems, but if I was going to get an upscaler I'd spend a bit more and get one that supports everything with RGB.

The one reward for a TG16 emulator inside a Turbo Tap is very cool, but that will cost you another $300!

It may be easier to just get something like a Retron N5, which upscales everything and emulates plenty of systems and has good compatibility.  I still thought it would be something cool to share.

Forget all this upscaling. Stick to CRT!

zapiy

Nice idea, but as already said it has limited appeal.

Own: Jaguar, Lynx, Dreamcast, Saturn, MegaDrive, MegaCD, 32X, GameGear, PS3, PS, PSP, Wii, GameCube, N64, DS, GBA, GBC, GBP, GB,  Xbox, 3DO, CDi,  WonderSwan, WonderSwan Colour NGPC

Now this is interesting, it's a book detailing every licensed US NES game, and also a new RPG for the system! One of the rewards is even a copy of the game for the Retro VGS system which is pretty cool :113:

wow.. Lorfarius will be dead interested in this perhaps?

zapiy

Looks pretty good and more or less fully pledged.

Yeah, with 24 days to go and less than $3000 away it's looking good.

The really interesting thing to me is the reward for the Retro VGS cartridge. It's a $50 pledge, and if that's an indicator of how much games for the system are going to cost, I think it's too much. I really like all these retro inspired indie games that are all over digital market places right now, but part of the reason is they are cheap games that can be bought for 5 or 10 dollars. At $50 a piece I wouldn't be a buyer!

I think your right. It would be a shame if they tried to make it too expensive, I imagine that would really cut their market.

They're supposed to be launching the KS for it very soon so we should know before too long.

Just saw this and I like it!

Love The Mind print, and you can ever get ones that glow in the dark. Very cool!

zapiy

Those are brilliant and the printing is being handled by Darrens long lost cousin.

Hey yeah, they do have the same last name!

Greyfox

Us Doyle's get in every where even in Texas :) The prints look fantastic and appear to be of high quality no doubt about it. But and its a small but, it's a little piece expensive for reprints on a mass scale can't be costing them more than possibly about $10-15 buck a set on a large print run, but still it's an epic piece of art none the less
