Shadowrunner

A Kickstarter campaign has been launched for a PS1 style JRPG.
The initial goal has already been met so they announced a ton of stretch goals.

They just passed the $80,000 mark so a Wii U, Vita, and PS4 version are all coming.
At $15 for a digital download of the game it's a great price so I just backed it.
If you're into the genre check it out  :)

Okay so I decided to change the title of this and turn it into a general Kickstarter topic.
Seems like I'm backing one of these a week lately so I thought it would be handy to have one place to talk about them. Everybody please feel free to add any gaming projects you come across or decide to back  :)

Here's the latest one for me to back

                                           Liege

It's another RPG and the initial goal has already been met meaning it's coming to PC, Mac, IOS, and Android.
They added stretch goals for PS4 and Vita so I'm really hoping they make it.

Here's one for all the pinball fans out there. The makers of the Pinball Arcade series have gone to Kickstarter to try and raise enough money to pay all the license fees for the classic arcade pinball machine Terminator 2! They're at 89% funded with 4 days to go so it's gonna be close.

I got a notification about this Terminator pinball Kickstarter.  I supported their ST:TNG table.  :)

Here's another one that looks pretty good. It's a new entry in a series that started back on the Spectrum and they have said all 5 of the original Spectrum games will be included. It's PC only right now but it says an Ouya port is likely.

So, I figured that instead of having a thread for every time one of these comes up, we can just keep it all to one thread and save ourselves a little extra effort. Personally? I love Kickstarter. It's a great way to see games we wouldn't normally see get funded, and I'm glad more and more people are getting into it.

Chris Sorrell Speaks! - James Pond

So, that said, apparently some guy is going to do a James Pond Kickstarter around the 20th. I'm... morbidly curious to see how this is going to work out, since James Pond hasn't been a thing since like... well, 2011, if we're counting that iPhone game. And the Playstation 2 port of Robocod. (Which, I maintain isn't really that great of a game. Operation Starfish was better, but nobody talks about that game. No justice.) I can't really judge how well it's going, but going by that one Dizzy Kickstarter from a while back, well...

In brighter news, the Kickstarter I'm keeping my on at the moment is the one for the new Shantae game. The Shantae games, if you haven't played them, are basically a series of really well animated 2D action adventure games. The first game was one of the last and greatest Game Boy Color games, with a third game in developement for the 3DS. Wayforward usually does great work, and I basically want them to have all my money. And I would, too, if I weren't trying NOT to throw all my money everywhere.

So, what projects are coming up that interest you? Anything you've funded you want to see?

Shadowrunner

Well actually, I tried the same thing a while ago http://www.retrovideogamer.co.uk/http://www.retrovideogamer.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=36186#p36186  :)

For me I've taken a bit of a break with them. I've backed a few now and so far the only one I have is the Ouya, which I'm slowly disliking more and more! I have another one for a Dreamcast shooter that's really late and the developers aren't saying much, and I have a few others that I backed recently and are a long ways away. Basically at this point I want a couple more finished before I back anymore.

I really do love the idea though, just need to see some results.

I've merged the topics so we have only one thread now.

There are quite a few interesting kickstarter projects on Steam.  Here is a picture of a Homeworld clone called Void Destroyer :-

There is also a planned Dungeon Keeper clone called War for the Overworld.  Here is a picture of that :-

Both of them have achieved their target funding and are in development.  Should be interesting to see the final products.

I never knew James Pond had so many titles. Hopefully a Kickstarter for Jaguar James Pond will start soon. 8)
