Internet speculation is now blaming Microsoft for the delay. Microsoft apparently has some developer terms & conditions that allow them to reject multi-platform titles unless the 360 version has simultaneous release and comparable content:

Microsoft might be forcing ubisoft to delay the Wii U release or forfeit a 360 version. ubisoft's wording hints at this also... "We never want to delay a game and for that we're sorry. We made the tough decision to push back the release so we could offer it on multiple platforms."

So who's to blame? The American imperialist bully boys of Microsoft or the cheese-eating surrender monkeys of French company Ubisoft?

Talking of Aliens:C.M, heard 1st review is in, GAMEStm, 4/10.
If it's as bad as it sounds, cannot see myself getting a Wii U just for the lure of using the controller as a motion tracker, no-matter how much my Aliens inner geek demands it.
Crying shame IF game is as bad as GAMEStm make out, Rebellions AVP was dissapointing enough on PS3/360, now this...Game over man, game over!.

Every person I have spoken to who has played it was massively disappointed.
The preview videos made me think oh-oh, as did it's change from promising squad based shooter to std FPS.I was very wary of Gearbox this gen after seeing the A.I routines in PS3/360 Brothers-In-Arms being worse than the PS2/Xbox games and now final straw was no reviews appearing before release-never a good sign.
Grips me really, with power of 360/PS3/Wii U alone, let alone modern PC's you could have had THE Aliens game and the Wii u controller really could have made it something extra special.
Looks like another wasted op.with the Wii U game (and as of yet unknown quality, as Gearbox not even doing game themselves) having a potentially great feature put on a real duffer of a game.
This COULD have been a real shot in the arm for Wii U, but unless game is radically over hauled, seems it'll join Ninja Gaiden 3 as a tarted up version of an already very dissapointing PS3/360 game.
Drake, we are leaving! (this game to rot on all formats).
Edit:Just found snippets of the review, they say it's graphically 1 of the worst games to grace PS3/360 in years, that your given NO reason to fear the Aliens and your driven from 1 dissapointing corridor to the next.
So, i'd expect better textures from Wii U version, bonus of motion tracker, but man, Gearbox totally missed point here with an Aliens game, IF your not in fear of the Alien, where's the tension? no good holding the controller and seeing blips appear if you've no feeling of threat is there?.

Exactly! Remember how scary AVP was on the Jag back in the day, especially when you were being stalked by a Predator!
Very disappointed to read Aliens CM may be crap but I Guess there is still hope the Wii U version is better.
Back to the subject of the system there's a new Wii U bundle coming out next week that includes everything in the deluxe set plus the game Zombie U and a pro controller for only 40 bucks more. I'm trying really hard to resist but I may just buckle next week, we will see
I think you would have to mental to buy a Wii U right now

In all seriousness though I thought the Wii U was pretty cool when I first played it and could see it doing ok. But Nintendo have fucked it up on a grand scale ever since. The system has hardly any games and of those it does have there are only a couple of decent exclusives, nothing worth buying a machine for though, and there is nothing on the immediate horizon either. Unless things change on the games front very very quickly then I am sad to say that the machine is doomed.
I am not even going to mention all the technical problems such as endless firmware updates, Wii virtual consoles problems and gamepad flaws. It's all about the games at the end of the day when it comes to consoles and the Wii U just doesn't have them.
Yes all very valid points and I agree it doesn't look good for Nintendo right now.
That being said they always seem to find a way to turn things around and I have a feeling they will do the same thing here. Time will tell I guess but if I do buy one there's plenty of Wii games I could pick up cheap to keep me busy till the Wii U games start coming. Mind you I could also get an original Wii very cheap these days if I want to play Wii games. Decisions decisions....
Despite the short-term issues, there's no way the Wii U is 'doomed'. This will be Nintendo's console for the next 5+ years. It will have dozens of quality exclusives... mostly first party. Whether it's worth the price now or after a price drop or never depends on whether you're interested in the games.
If you want to play all the 'modern gaming' franchises then the Wii U shouldn't be your only console. But, I think that's been obvious about Nintendo consoles since the N64. As a secondary console it will have plenty to offer... eventually.
Also very good points and that new bundle is a good deal in my opinion.
Again decisions decisions....

Indeed.
