Bit more like it:

Wii U version of Need For Speed:Most Wanted to be IMPROVED over PS3/360 versions (as it'll be based on PC version).

The Wii U's extra Ram allowing for:Better textures and assests, improved lighting and draw distance.

Nice to see some developers willing to take advantage of what Wii U hardware offers.

Namco's Tank! Tank! Tank! is now available on the eShop as a free-to-play basic game with one map. Additional maps & game modes are being sold as DLC. You can only play the 'free' basic game three times per day until you purchase something from the DLC. Buying all of the DLC will give the same content as the retail release.

The 'My Kong' multiplayer mode, which some reviews praise as the best part of the game, is on sale until the end of February.

These are'nt so good:

Wii U Resident Evil Revelations WON'T support Wiimote controls, only Wii U Gamepad.

Rumour going around Wii U Aliens:Col.Marines has been 'postponed indefinitely'.

Wow! That sucks, especially after all the motion tracker hype.

Sega have denied Wii U version has been canned, they instead say they never gave a def.release date (and nor has there been any footage of it running seen so far, etc).

Looks like they are waiting for the poor reviews of PS3/360+PC versions, outrage to die down. 🙂

Jan.(a 5 wk month) Wii U sales are in from USA:

Wii U shifted an (estimated) 55,000 units.

By comparison:

PS Vita in at around 35,000

Xbox 360 in at around 280,000

Starting to look like folks hanging on waiting for the Xbox Next and PS4 revealing, PS4's said to be 20th Feb, shot of prototype new controller 'leaked' (Dual shock with small touch screen on front, share button and move strip on top-looks wretched, like some 3rd party PS3 pad with gimmicks!), Sony starting to tease etc.

Has the Wii U squandered  it's chance to get a decent head start? media focus will soon be focusing on 2 very different platforms.

Yeah I was just reading about that. By comparison even when the PS3 was first released and selling for $600 they were selling more per month. Not very good numbers for a brand new console.

Yep, reminds me of the 3DO somewhat, newer, more powerful hardware released, which was found to be weaker in some areas than aging hardware it was up again'st (3DO not as powerul at 2D as SNES, Wii U stronger GPU and double the Ram of say PS3, but weaker CPU), people ignore it, knowing new machines that'll eclipse it power wise, around the corner and it's games will end up appearing on other platforms, so just sit it out.

I played Starfighter, Space Hulk, Return Fire and Po'ED on PS1.

Great as it is to hear things like Need For Speed will be taking advantage of the hosthardware on Wii rather than being a weaker port, i personally cannot see things like this being the shot in the arm Wii U so badly needs.Great if your a Wii U owner and you don't own the game, you'll be getting the best console version, but it's not the sort of thing Wii U needs to shift units.

Nintendo knew that by launching Wii U when they did, they had a fleeting moment whilst the media focus was on them, they should really have run with it, now, light started to shift to Sony (who for once seem on the ball with marketing, catching MS by surprise) and soon to be joined by MS.

Eyes will be on just what sort of games the next gen hardware will deliver rather than a PS3/360 port with nicer textures and draw distance.

Only to look at how media treated the 3DO+Jaguar when PS1/Saturn were annouced, they were yesterdays news.Dreamcast written off by supposed power of Playstation 2, 77 Million Poloygons, Emotion Engine etc, Vita written off, Xbox was nearly written off by likes of EDGE
at 1 point etc.

Indeed. I'd consider buying the game... if I didn't already have the PC version.

Namco's Tank! Tank! Tank! is now available on the eShop as a free-to-play basic game with one map. Additional maps & game modes are being sold as DLC...

After some of the lukewarm reviews I was perhaps expecting the worst from this game after having downloaded it earlier today. I was pleasantly surprised with it though. It may be a simple game but it's plenty of fun... which was the point of playing videogames last time I checked! I purchased the My Kong multiplayer mode at the discounted price and thought it an enjoyable laugh. I particularly enjoyed playing the Free For All multiplayer mode too.  :)

3DS slaughters all with weekly sales of 74,729 units.

Yet the Wii U is outsold by PS VITA (who's hardware price drop has'nt  come into effect, yet)-

Wii U 9,633 compared to PS Vita 11,456. (PS3 by comparison18, 529).

The Dragon Quest 7 re-make was released for 3DS in Japan a couple weeks ago. It sold over 800,000 copies in two weeks and probably gave a boost to 3DS system sales.

Wii U desperately needs new games... anything. EU has been playing catch-up from the 2012 US titles, but US and JPN haven't had a major release in over two months. Rayman Legends should have been released yesterday to a game starved audience for maximum profit.

March should finally be a boost for the Wii U though. US/EU get Lego City, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, and NFS:MW in mid/late March. JPN gets Dragon Quest 10 HD and Game & Wario in late March. If they can't sell some consoles with these titles, it'll be a long spring for Nintendo fans.

Konami given reasons why 'Castlevania:Lords Of Shadow 2' IS'NT being developed along side PS3/360 versions:

To do a Wii U version along side, would require resources and budget we just don't have, your looking at a team of another 20 people.

The office space we bought was for 60 people, we've currently 110 working in it, people are sitting on each other's laps.

We may look at doing a Wii U port in future, just not now.

Just been reading a review of Lego City Undercover, was interested to see how a Wii U exclusive fared, from a technical standpoint, rather than yet another PS3/360 port, seems the exterior sections are (sadly) blighted by a good few technical flaws, slowdown and pop-in being quite frequent.

Starting to wonder just when, if at all, developers will start to code for the hardware's strengh (ie get the GPU to handle the workload, taking pressure off CPU).

🙂 So, ONLY in 2013 did enough people have the internet for Nintendo to consider it....
