Regarding dead space 3, wow, are they charging full price for the game too? Mind you, you say microtransactions but really any dlc where you buy a gun or armor etc is a form of micro transaction so its not that shocking, just a sign of the times, not that its a good thing lol

IF i'm reading this right, the new MS 64GB Surface Pro tablet has a mere 23 GB of USEABLE storage as 41 GB is taken up with:

The full fat version of Windows 8 O/S, built in Apps, a recovery partiton+trail ver.of Office.

The 128 GB model has only 83 GB.

Starting to wonder just how much of the claimed 8 GB Ram on next gen Xbox will be used for non-gaming overheads.

True, but then why would MS go into such detail on how to free up more space? not that Apple are much different, my iPad 2 does'nt exactly have what it says on the tin, storage wise.

Think people need to get a little more savy with just what they are getting out of the box.HDD manufactuers used to pull similar stunts, now it's tablets.

Ahh, but this tablet NOT the pro though, it's the one'sources' claim MS will be releasing alongside or soon after the Next Gen Xbox, part of MS strategy to combat the Wii U (not that it needs much competition judging by current sales), that was going to be a very 'dumb' tablet.

LOL, well, i'm saying that's what sites are saying, based on this 27? page, leaked design document on next gen Xbox.Supposedly sources close to MS 'confirmed' said document, but it was 9 months old.

The X-tablet (i'll call it that), was said to be dumb, basically just for streaming game data to etc, so it could be sold cheap enough to make it attractive to gamers.

I mean VITA and PS3 link up alone has potential (as shown in DUST 514) but price for Vita makes it so un-realistic an option, IF MS do plan a tablet just for Xbox 3 gaming, it'll have to be low price, thus cut down, tech+features wise.

Same lot also saying chipset on new Xbox will make B.C with 360 VERY unlikely and also going on 360 Xbox B.C, MS just don't see it as a priority or selling point.Mind you with huge 360 installed user base, IF true, that's a hellva risk.

Presumably an inefficiently constructed and bloated OS takes up that much space. Maybe some of the space reserved for the OS is currently unused, i.e. set aside for the incoming firmware updates and/or additional functionality to be included in the future.

I can't tell you just how badly I facepalmed when reading that said game can't be downloaded to the Basic version of the console as-is. Considering how many years Ninty had to plan things it's an appalling oversight on their part. It's not like we're even talking of a large sized game either (Wii U game discs have a 25GB capacity, iirc) because it's only 3.2GB which is nothing by today's standards. Shockingly poor.
