Atari Lynx Reviews - A look back!

I'd like to get a prototype of Monster Demolition. I also saw it in a japanese TV report, but nobody on AA at the time knew of the game.

I imagine this was eventually turned into Rampage when they got that license.

Yes it was, first off all they called it Rampage Deluxe - I have a preview somewhere of it being called this and the game looked the same as Monster Demolition. Then they made major changes to the game to turn it into Rampage. I would love to play the original game as it seemed quite different, for example "Lizzy" could breathe fire.

She still does...

LOL  I can't help but laugh at the beginning of the Pit Fighter review.  It seems the person reviewing the game was into S&M sex.  The picture doesn't help either!

Were these actually supposed to be reviews? Honestly, I can't really tell. Maybe the magazines I've read are different, but I'm really not sure what I'm supposed to be getting from the Dirty Larry review. "OK, so here's this game about this guy named Larry. He fights people. Oh, the game is good, too. OK, bye." I mean, about the only thing in the whole review that actually says anything about the actual game is that it has five levels.

EDIT: Oh, OK, that makes sense. That's still pretty short for a preview, but I guess they didn't have as much to work with back then.

They are previews as I said already, hence why they don't have a score :3:

Bloody great magazine.Only managed to pick up a few physicall copies of it, so the mag scans DVD was a godsend.knew you'd make great use of it Laird 🙂

They gave the Atari systems (ST, Lynx+7800) great coverage at the time and seeing the scans up here i'd hope might just remind certain other magazines/sites that the UK press were very interested in these systems at the time, (in fact there was a lot of excitement for the 7800 UK release) and so they deserve far more coverage than they currently get!.

Just recently got into both Slimeworld and Xenophobe, both superb, but yep, scores for both that little bit too high for my own personal feelings on both.

Those scores for Ms. Pac-Man are ridiculous.  They keep saying that is like the original but give it a low score because it isn't how they want it to be.  What was that person smoking when writing the review?

Just stumbled across ST review of Xenophobe in Zero magazine, thought it might make for a comparison with the Lynx score Raze awrded, it got 67%.
