So, hey, I got bored. I figured we could totally do a thread about this, because, hey, why not? It'll be interesting to see how the scores look once we get a few games into this.
Let's start off with something nice and familar: Mortal Kombat.

DOS

Personally, I have to say that the DOS port wins out here. The Amiga version has some nice music, but the DOS version has more color, less loading time required, and doesn't restrict you to the one button joystick setup of the Amiga version.
I would expect the PC to win here as by the time this game was released PC's could display far more colours at higher resolutions and also had more ram too.
The pc wins this one simply because of the 256 colour Vga chipset, makes it more arcade perfect of a port that the the Amiga version, I personally didn't like the Amiga version, the team behind it, went with bland colours and and by the looks of it about 16 colour palette, was this to be port to or from an Atari ST version? other than the music of the Amiga version which has nothing to do with the Arcade original, just about makes it bearable as a beatem'up .. The Pc port looks to be a direct prot of the Snes verison now where's my copy of Body blows
Okay, I thought I'd add another PC vs Amiga, this time as my last post ended with Body Blows, I thought I'd do a match between both versions

I think we can all agree the PC port of MK won this time around. It's 1-0 right now!
Body Blows, huh? It's like choosing between watching paint dry and watching grass grow... all right, let's see what we've got here.
Well, there's no contest that the Amiga version wins out in music, for sure. The colors also aren't quite as vibrant on the DOS version, but I'm not sure if that's the AGA or regular version the Amiga video's showing. Other than that, they seem like the exact same game.
I would personally side towards the Amiga in this case, but only a little. But don't take my word for it!
Yeah the Amiga version takes this one, albeit by a very slim margin.
1-1
Okay Bob or Laird which one of you is next here to present your case?

Don't ask me I have never owned a DOS PC or an Amiga

All right, let's throw in another one. This time, I'll throw in something more towards the Amiga side of things. So here's Superfrog, a pretty average Sonic clone made by people who never understood Sonic's about going fast, not about running around collecting things. Clearly Jazz Jackrabbit could trounce it in seconds flat, but that wasn't on the Amiga, so...

This one's going to be interesting. This version actually has .MOD music, so the music's as same as the Amiga version. Only real difference I can see is that there's no status bar, which means that you can see more of the screen. It also means you can't see how much health you have without taking a hit, though...
