Has anyone seen it in HFR(High Frame Rate aka 48 frames per second)?  If so, did you notice any difference, and would you say it was worthwhile?

I saw at at that frame rate on IMAX.  It looked the same as any other IMAX film to me.

I saw it a few days ago. I was putting it off because I am a huge fan of the book and was very worried... but I needn't have been. Yes, it changes some events, shuffles others around, adds stuff from the other Tolkien books/notes and totally changes the tone and sub-text of the story, but (I can't believe I'm saying this) it just works. It's a great film. Trying to stay faithful to the book would have resulted in a worse film, I think.

Maybe I'm mellowing in my old age, but I applaud all involved for having the bravery to change things in order to make the best film they could. I prefer the book, but hey, its still there, I can still read it and its exactly the same as before the film was released. I don't get why some people get so up in arms about this kind of thing.
