JOTD has released an enhanced AGA edition of Ghosts’n Goblins, giving Amiga 1200 and later AGA machines a version that aims much closer to the original arcade presentation.
The classic run-and-gun platformer has appeared on numerous home computers over the years, including the Amiga, but this project concentrates on improving the experience for AGA hardware.
The enhanced version is designed for the Amiga 1200 and above, making use of the additional capabilities available on AGA machines rather than treating the older conversion as the final word.
It is another strong example of the Amiga community revisiting familiar software and asking what could be achieved if the original hardware limitations were pushed aside.
RVG take: For Amiga owners with AGA hardware, this is a welcome reason to revisit one of the most recognisable arcade platformers of the 1980s.
