Voltmace Database fan here
« on: May 05, 2021, 01:11:54 AM »
Hello from Nova Scotia, though I am originally from the UK where amongst other things I worked for Voltmace where I programmed a couple of games for them. I pretty much forgot all about for several decades but am getting back into programming, mainly on an emulator, but I now have two Voltmace consoles that I am working on getting running on modern tvs. I have recently teamed up with Chris of Dead Flesh Retro https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC21J52nwWMdnsBUyk2sXn8A to try and promote interest in the Interton/1292 APVS family of consoles.

Wow, I believe I still have mine in the loft, with some cartridges.  I remember visiting the factory/shop once as a child, Baldock wasn't it ?

Yes, it was in Baldock, first in Church Street, then Park Drive. How did you come to visit the factory?

Your console shouldn't be in the loft !!!

Gosh, I think it needed repair... it was a long time ago. All I remember is a room that was very shiny... I was young.  It's in the loft unfortunately as I no longer have a TV that will work with it, like much of the retro kit (my two Orics for example)

I have never heard of this before lol. Just looked it up though and it's a cool little system. Good luck!

I never heard of the system either.  Maybe I'll start a separate thread for it.

That would be cool, but if you do, please consider that it is part of a family of clones that in the UK included Acetronic, Rowtron, and in Germany Interton VC4000. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1292_Advanced_Programmable_Video_System
