I've never seen that before.  I went ahead and got the pictures as they'll be taken down by Ebay after a time and folks should have a view of it.  I've also copied the info for interest's sake. Does anyone know the seller?

It's interesting for sure, never seen one before. Not very handy with having to burn EPROM's but still pretty cool.

That really is interesting, makes you wonder how something like that just turns up on eBay though?

Yeah good point. Usually when people do something like this they join forums and tell people about it ahead of time. This just came out of nowhere. Given the nature of the Jag scene though, I can understand skipping that part!

Heads up don't spend your moneys on this Matthias has a warming for this cart!

QuoteHello!

Agreed, the cartridge design is neat, but i still see two problems:

1) Standard Jaguar titles use the 93c46 serial Eeprom with 128 bytes for saving data, the 93c56 are 256 bytes and as far as i know the serial commands for accessing the chips are different in length.

2) All those "Meg"s used in the auction description are Megabits, the 27c800 stores just 1 Megabyte, with 2 of these you can just store 2 Megabyte on this cartridge, and it's not made clear if you can use the 27c160 Eprom on this PCB (to gain 4MegaByte).

Kind regards
Matthias

I wasn't planning to spend any money on it but that's good information to know for anyone who was considering it.  Thanks!

The thing is there ain't that many good jag games that would warrent a multicart imo.

Ouch, myself and quite a few others on this site would disagree with that comment! Still, everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if it's wrong  :10:  Seriously though, even if you're not a huge fan of the Jag's library, the price that the games sell for would make a multi cart very worthwhile.

zapiy

Yeah there are some great games on the system but we all have opinions. For me something like this could spark further development also.

:21:

I have been through this a time or two for my opinion of the racing games on the Jaguar. So I had a good chuckle.
