How many of those versions were made by Atari?  A number of them look almost identical (even if they sound different).  I can't help but cringe at the 2600 version for not even attempting to look like the arcade.  I'd even be more accepting if it looked something like this version:

[align=center:1jlsh3bk]Pac-Man 8k (Atari 2600)[/align:1jlsh3bk]

The maze may still be different but the maze colors and the ghosts at least try to look like the real thing.  Of course we now have Pac-Man 4K which is as arcade-perfect as you can get on the 2600 with just 4K.  :)

Going to the final frontier, gaming...

Amstrad looks nice but seems slow. Apple 2 looked putrid but seemed to scroll well. Pac-Man seemed to brush up against the green ghost on the Apple 2 and nothing happened. The Atari 800 looks no different then the A400 version.  :78: C64 version looks okay. Colecovison looks really good. Smooth scrolling and fast gameplay. Intellivision is another good version, just needed a bigger maze. Same for the Vic-20, although it surprised me how nice the game looked. Spectrum is very impressive. Reminds me of the Coleco Tabletop version. Nes is spot on. Except for the oversized characters. Pac-Man and the ghosts seem exaggerated in size.

Did I miss the 5200 version? It has intermissions. My A400 copy of Pac-Man does not.

I like the Pac-Man 8k.
