Video gaming magazine pioneer Joyce Katz dies

Joyce Katz, a pioneer in the publishing of video games magazines in the 1980s and 1990s, died on Saturday. She was 76. Katz was part of the founding team that brought the first dedicated video games magazine to shelves in 1981.

It's always sad to read about the passing of an indivual that was at ground zero in the beginning of the video game craze, I've read a good few of these magazines and they had some fantastic video game related information in them to which the video gaming culture as a whole will be forever in their debt.

R.I.P Mrs.Katz, you are just as immortal as your amazing contribution to Electronic Gaming and our favourite pastime. Thank you.

That's quite an amazing archive of the magazine over at Digital Press. Hope they can get those remaining two to complete it.
