Mr Do and Boulderdash are two of my favourites, but for sheer addictiveness it's Mr Driller for me. Such a simple idea - it is pure genius really and I believe it is underrated.

Digger came out on PS3 a wee shortly back. Clearly a Mr Do ripoff. (I used to love Mr Do).

One of the other favorites of mine - I only ever saw it in one arcade in my yoot. It did come out on the BBC Micro too (called monsters)

Space Panic is the original ladders and levels game. Loderunner is its spiritual sequel - but you could argue all platform games are sequels too.

Looks like we have a three way tie here! New members, or anyone who didn't vote already, get your votes in. We need a winner  :113:

No, no, no.  What you needed to say was that anyone who hasn't voted yet needs to dig in and get their voting done.  ;)

Going to the final frontier, gaming...

I love Mr. Drillers color pallet. But Dig Dug holds a place in my heart.

Dig Dug was my choice too, love it!
Welcome to the site by the way, there's an introduction section Here if you feel so inclined :)

Love Dig Dug or Mr. Driller. Hated Dig Dug 2, just didn't enjoy the top-down view..

I voted Boulderdash as there's just more to it that your average arcade "digger".
If I had to pick another then it would be Mr Do! as it's way better than Dig Dug (which I like)!

DIG DUG! Spent many hours playing the 7800 version when I was a kid.

Drill Dozer on the GBA is pretty good too.

Greyfox

I've had to choose the "Other" option because one of e best unsung digger game imaginable has been completely ignored :(, it was an amazing classic which featured on the 8-bit computer range back 1983. Any ideas? This classic digger game appeared on the Atari 8-bit range and the Commodore 64 and had a great take on the boulder dash / dig dug bit involved water being the killer that contain baddies adding to the tension.

The game was of the infamous "O'Riley's Mine"

I've never heard of O'Riley's Mine before, but it does look like a great digging game :)

it was a childhood favorite of mine , many a memory on playing this with my Dad, he was pants of course, but weren't all parents trying to look hip in front of your kid's friends  :24:
