You can only have each console once, you have Mega Drive twice  :40:

Also you need to state a console for peripherals too, not just the ones you want.

I think you made a few mistakes there.

SNES controller & Playstation library?  Yikes.

We could only use each console once or it would have all been MegaDrive  :10:

Rogue Trooper

Hardware wise, rather than create some kinda Frankenstein abomination, i'm going to just tinker with hardware i think was pretty damn fine as it was, so it's greatest games could have been even better.

So i'm going to go for a Mega Drive, but rip out it's sound chip, put in the Saturn sound chip, just to really mess with the SNES brigade, keep the MD CPU, put in SNES graphics chip (so Mode 7 but this time with a CPU fast enough to handle it without extra DSP chips on cart, plus more colours) and i'm going to have the MS 3D glasses.

MD game libary is superb, ticks all the bases for myself and i've a machine that will age better than say the PS1 or N64, as it's 2D will still look fantastic and games sound fantastic, even on cart.

Very nice but not what I asked :3:

:-) Ex-engineer so i'm designing something that will actually run the libary i want, but adress it's weaknesses, if i cannot have the MD libary of games, then i'd opt for:

MD CPU, SNES GPU, Saturn Soundchip, MS 3D Glasses, PC Eng libary and....Neo geo controller.

Nothing used more than once, nothing later than Saturn

Storage would be high capacity Ram carts.

And i'd house it all in the Jaguar Duo casing.

Assuming that no modifcations could be done (using different controllers or anything) which of the suggested systems would you actually buy?

I think the ones that I'd consider would be Laird's SegAtari Mega System and Minerals' Sega Megacast CD.

Maybe I should do a Kickstarter!  :21:

I just found this great article from The One magazine where they design their own ultimate console:

A lot of talk about VR on this!
