Doom 3DO

Doom on the 3DO was the first time i had played the game, some will tell you that the 3D0 version is the to be ported to a console.. I believe it has the same level set as the Jaguar version which i also own.. This though is a prized asset..

Any other owners of this game on the 3D0?

The 3DO is one of my all time favorite consoles, absolutely love it! It's also the system I have the biggest collection of games for but yet I don't own Doom for it. I had always been under the impression the 3DO version wasn't very good and since I own the game on a couple of other systems I never bothered to get it. Still glad somebody is talking about the system

I have played it but it was many moons ago, I seem to remember it suffering from many of the same problems as the Saturn version - poor frame rate, borders, jerky movement etc. Probably because both versions were outsourced and not actually programmed by ID Software.

I still maintain the Jag version is the best of it's era, an opinion the creator of Doom John Carmack shares

One thing i never mentioned is the sheer size of the box.. They must have destroyed a few trees for that game..

Yeah the 3do port is one of the worst ports IMO! Even the Snes version runs faster! Just very bad programming as the 3do is more than capable of a decent port.
