OK early followers of RRE and the show plans we've been concocting - we've listened to early opinion and made the necessary changes, and can confirm that REVIVAL 2013 is now booked and confirmed with some slight changes, to Saturday and Sunday 18th-19th May 2013 at Dunstall Park Racecourse, Wolverhampton!

With demand for a full weekend event and ideas/requests for certain features and more exhibits, we have moved location of the event to the plush Ringside and Concourse Suites of Dunstall Park Racecourse, just on the edge of Wolverhampton city centre in the West Midlands. The new venue boasts more floor space with chance for more dedicated zones and exhibits, with a fully licenced bar, reasonably-priced restaurant, all-day comfort food on demand, 300 free on-site car parking spaces and full ground-floor disability-friendly access! We have also managed to secure a longer setup time on Friday evening, full free Wi-Fi access (a big help for traders to receive remote payments) and longer opening times, giving scope for an evening segment right in the venue itself!

The venue is more easily accessible by road being away from the major traffic hotspots of the Midlands (minutes from the M6, M5, M54 or M1 motorway links) as well as having direct public transport links with all the surrounding towns and of course Birmingham city centre, for those travelling distances by air or rail. Best of all, the venue has an on-site 4-star Holiday Inn, which will be offering special rates for the weekend for visitors of the REVIVAL Exhibition, meaning that everything you need if travelling distance or wanting to make the most of the show is right there in one venue, so no additional travelling costs! Plus for all you gamers who enjoy a bit of nightlife, Wolverhampton city centre is just 1 mile away with a very active pub and club scene and we will be making enquiries with local businesses to hopefully get some drink and food deals made for show guests too!

All in all, this show is already shaping up to be a fantastic exhibition and we're listening to opinion and going that extra mile to make sure it really is the all-encompassing retro event you've been waiting for! The website will be updated shortly, but in the meantime you can check back here for more info and please spread the news round all your usual forums and social media sites!

Mine is the 21st! This is going to be my birthday celebration!

This event is in the midlands, not up north, but it was moved from July.

dcultrapro

oh ok, so whats the other event I'm thinking of you mentioned, or am I just getting confused and it is this one? what you gonna do about staying over? its a fair ways from here so if I was going to go I'd have to stay over somewhere

You are probably thinking of this one mate or another that was announced for when Retrovision was going to be that actually is up north (Sheffield).

This one has a Travel Lodge or some such next to it apparently that is £25 a night, even cheaper with a room share.

dcultrapro

sounds good, so is the one in Sheffield not going ahead now?

Yes it is, its in March.

This event was originall in Solihull in July, it was cancelled after people moaned about the lack of a bar and then moved to Wolverhampton in May.

dcultrapro

aaaah yes Solihull rings a bell, that's what I was thinking of, sorry!!

So what's the one in March in Sheffield??

It's a show in Sheffield that is being run by a guy from Retro Gamer and Replay Events who did Play Expo. Will be a really big show but I don't think I will be going as its a long way to go and I prefer smaller shows.

I am strongly considering going, but it depends on my transport situation at the time and the weather. i.e. my wife has the household car and if it's raining my motorbike isn't an option.  :-X
