Anyone ever try the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive cart swap trick?

I have an old Sega strategy game guide that had some tricks you could use with swapping out Genesis/Mega Drive games. I have never tried it and they warn you that it can damage the system. Just curious if anyone else had ever given it a shot.

It seems you take one cart and swap with another then you can get unlimited lives or other extras.

Never heard of that before but the CAUTION!!! would probably stop me from trying. LOL

Back in the day I never had the correct games for the combinations. If I had Altered beast then I did not have Golden Axe. When I did get Golden Axe then someone borrowed Altered Beast.
