Saw this and thought it may interest some folks here. Check it out at The Video Craze: Where Were You in '82?. This is a documentary about video gaming. Here is what Dain, from Nintendo Age, had to say about it:
As a huge gaming-related documentary fan, I decided to pick up a copy of The Video Craze - Where Were you in 82? This was an enjoyable film that shares the lives of ordinary people trying to keep the spirit of the 1980's alive by recreating arcades in their homes or by reinventing the arcade with fresh ideas. It also draws the viewer into the arcade culture that is still alive and bustling today with coverage of current events such as The Kong Off and new world record attempts, such as Q*Bert. The film shines with a multitude of gaming personalities in interviews, gaming sequences and events, and does great justice to the hardcore arcade gamer.
Where the film lacks a bit is in overall story, and the way it jumps around from one random topic to the next, and one generation to the next. The film wasn't really about where gamers were in 1982, but more about where they are now, how the scene has progressed, and where it's moving to in the near future. There were some scenes that the out-of-touch gamer (or non-gamer) might be a bit oblivious to, like talking about the new Twin Galaxies ownership, or when Billy Mitchell talks about everyone "getting along", but thankfully the director didn't dwell on those insider topics.
In all, I would recommend this film if you enjoyed The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters or Chasing Ghosts: Beyond the Arcade, as I feel like it's in the same realm as those regarding content and personalities.[/font:1hqhdwrh]
