In 1987 an eerie and enticing point and click adventure arrived on the Apple Macintosh known as Shadowgate. This death-ridden classic would soon become a widespread fan favourite following its release onto the Nintendo NES a couple years later. As of today, both fans of the original and newcomers to the title can finally experience the game in all its glory through its newly released HD remake.

Having successfully secured funding for the title through Kickstarter in 2012, the original developers behind Shadowgate - Dave Marsh and Karl Roelofs – have been busy away recreating the title for modern platforms. This all new reboot of Shadowgate features all of the original's iconic locations and gameplay, lovingly recreated with high definition visuals and atmospheric audio.

Going by the studio's gameplay trailers showcasing the action side-by-side with the NES version too, it's safe to say that this is one remake that has been handled correctly.

As of now you can finally enjoy this reboot of Shadowgate through Steam, for both Windows and OS X. The title is expected to hit both Android and iOS in the near future too.
