I plan to integrate a bluetooth stack in master mode into classic retro console to allow PS2/PS3 joysticks to be connected. The found out-of-box solution costs about $20 bugs alone and requires an additional PCB to feed the input devices to the existing solder points. Together about 4cm x 10cm. So a complete solution could be within the $40 range.
Is this worth to spent time on it?
The good news is that the found solution has more capabilities which allows sdcard usage, network connection etc. with less additional money on the table. For example you may stream the output of the console to the WLAN/local network to your handheld device etc. It is not a big task to implement that by using standard components and the help of some additional programming. Specially the sdcard option to copy existing modules via cartridge slot to an internal memory sounds quite useful.
