Microsoft is offering free 14 day trials of their new subscription service Game Pass so I thought I would give it a shot, and I have to say I really like it.
There's more info here for anyone unsure what it is, but basically you pay a monthly fee and get access to over 100 games that you can play as much as you want. It's $9.99 or £7.99 a month and you can download as many of the game as you want onto your console, unlike Sony's Playstation Now service which is all streaming.
The older I get the pickier I get about games. I'll still play just about anything for an hour or two but at that point if I'm not loving it I generally move on to another game, which if I'm buying the games gets very expensive! I'm also moving more and more away from physical games and going digital instead so Game Pass is perfect for me. I've always got more games to play and I'm not wasting money or shelf space on them.
Anybody else try this or think they might like it too?
I tried the 14-day Game Pass trial too, and I have to admit it changed the way I think about gaming subscriptions. Having access to over 100 titles without worrying about buying each one feels like a huge relief, especially when I’m not sure I’ll enjoy a game for more than a few hours. I like that you can download games to your console instead of just streaming—they run smoother and you don’t need a constant internet connection. I was also reading about other gaming platforms and came across a review for Hand of Luck on https://hand-of-luck-casino.uk/ which explains their online casino offerings, deposit options, and mobile app features—it’s interesting to see how digital platforms are evolving beyond just console games. For anyone debating between subscriptions, it really gives a flexible way to try new titles without overspending.
