Now, let me clarify something real quick so nobody gets the wrong idea: I don't really go for modern FPSes in the Call of Duty mold. I feel that CoD on the whole has basically killed creativity in FPSes. I don't like realistic weapons, where each gun only differs by how many bullets come out of it when you pull the trigger. I don't like how every enemy in most modern FPSes is 'guy with gun'. I don't like linear levels where wandering off the intended path kills you.

That said, I can't say for sure how much this game right here will go along like that, but it actually looks very promising to me. I'm very interested in this.

Wolfenstein: The New Order NEW Gameplay Preview

So I never did get around to playing the Wolfenstien reboot that came out a few years ago, but I heard some very good things. This, on the other hand, is apparently a sequel to the original Wolfenstien 3D, but the plot is that the Nazis won WW2.  Which I'm a little confused about, because I'm pretty sure a major plot point of that game was you single-handedly murdered Hitler, but... well, maybe they'll explain that. So it's basically an alternate 60's full of Nazi death robots and cool sci-fi weapons. You, as BJ Blackowitz, member of the resistance, are probably about to kill a whole lot of Nazis.

I admit, there looks like there's going to be a fair deal of linearity, but this game does look really interesting to me. I love the way the setting looks, especially with all the giant Nazi mechs wandering around to blow up.

I love the fact that there's a gun that looks like this. I also appreciate that there will be actual health pickups to collect, although apparently your health will regenerate up to a certain point.

So, yeah, I know most people around here don't go for FPSes so much, or modern ones at that. Like I said, I've got no love for Battlefield, or Homefront, or what have you. This game just looks like they've made a serious effort to be a little more unique and exciting, and that makes me really want to play it. It's just everything that I've wanted from more FPSes, like crazy weapons, interesting enemies, and gunshots that don't magically heal themselves, that I haven't seen nearly often enough, these days.

...I also like how one of the villians appears to be an evil Nazi grandma.
