So, it's an FMV game. Wait, wait, don't go! It's a good one!
OK, so, there was a project going on Kickstarter (Yeah, yeah, I know, but I personally LIKE Kickstarter) called Project Fedora. It did pretty well, well enough that it got more than enough funding, and now we've got a trailer.
Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure trailer
For context, this is the long, long overdue sequel to the Tex Murphy games. Quick history lesson: The Tex Murphy series started off with two point and click adventure games in the early 90's. They weren't very good. But then there was Under A Killing Moon. This was probably the best FMV game you'd probably find, with real 3D worlds to explore, (And I'd say it did better at making places look "real" than Doom did) a great setting, kind of a cross between Blade Runner and a noir movie, and the voice of James Earl Jones.
Under A Killing Moon - Day1, Part 2 of 6
There were also two other games down the line, with the final game in the series before now being Overseer, a remake of the first Tex game.
So, even though I'm not great at adventure games, I'm honestly looking forward to this. I honestly have a bit of nostalgia for FMV games, being born in the era where they were big. And with this series actually being regarded as, you know, good, I'd love to see how a modern one looks with today's technology.
