Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures has been assigned a release date by Namco Bandai Games.

The animated series tie-in will debut on consoles and PC on October 29, with a handheld edition for 3DS landing on November 26.

Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures combines the classic gameplay mechanics of the original game with new challenges and follows the story of the Disney XD animated series of the same name.

"As one of the most iconic and popular video game characters, Pac-Man has virtually become the symbol of our company," said Olivier Comte, senior vice-president of Namco Bandai Games Europe.

"As a wish to renew the Pac-Man franchise and bring it to the new generation of gamers, we are proud to introduce a brand new concept in the Pac-Man universe with Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures."

Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures is in development for PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360.
