Marvel vs. Capcom Origins Hits Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network in September

Capcom announced today that they will be releasing Marvel vs. Capcom Origins, a compilation of both Marvel Super Heroes and the original Marvel vs. Capcom, for both Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network this fall. The origins of the VS. series have been well documented in countless videos and articles, so I don’t have to tell you the significance both of these games hold in the grand scheme of things.

The ports will also come with enhanced options like various challenge options and online play, complete with spectator mode and replay saving. Netcode will once again be handled by GGPO. Be sure to check out both the snazzy trailer above or the press release and screenshots below. According to the press release, MvCO should retail for about 1200 Microsoft points or $14.99 on the PSN store. Also, if you’re heading to Comic-Con, you’ll be among the first get your hands on these ports. If you’re in need of a reintroduction to your roots, September is your month.

From the side margin stats and GGPO netcode it looks like it's using the same framework as SF3:TS. That would be excellent.
I've got original CPS2 arcade PCBs for both games, but might still get this for the online play and unlockable extras. There's also a Marvel vs Capcom series artbook releasing this fall and rumors of an 'Uncanny Edition' MvC3 DLC upgrade with a few new characters/stages and gameplay tweaks. Capcom continues to milk the fanbase, but I'll probably buy them all on day one.
