Love you Laird!

Only ever played C64 Joe Blade (and loved it, pity about the nice looking, but far too easy sequrl, sigh..).

So, was very curious to see the other versions.

Yet again, i'm VERY impressed by the Speccy version, great music, monochrome, but superbly detailed visuals, just love those laughing faces peering from behind the cell bars, adds sense of character to the game.

Dissapointed to see CPC is a straight port, thought they might have made use of it's strengths a tad more, as far as adding colour was concerned.

C64 version has the best audio, as i expected, but again, when i return to C64 games, it's the washed out colours that really stand out, it's good, but having seen the Speccy version.....know which i preferthe look of.

Never seen the A8 version, blockiest version, which i kinda expected out of C64/Speccy+CPC, but brightest, in terms of colours and did'nt find the brickwork on the walls so hard on the eyes.Seems to be running the fastest, but not sure IF this is due to it being on emulator? (assume it is running via emulation).

Never even knew there was an Electron ver, had a friend who had an Electron, but 'we' never played much on it, as my friends and i, being C64/Atari 800XL+Speccy owners used to think it was pretty w**k at the time, :-), never even hear much about the format in RG mag etc, guess it was a cut down BBC Micro?.

Seems like a Speccy port, slowest version yet, but as i've no idea how hardware compares to a Speccy, not sure how 'good' a conversion this is.Does retain the nice, crisp+detailed visuals though.

Yeah the Electron is basically a cut down BBC Micro, most games are the same as the BBC except they run slower and often lack colour too.

I loved the speccy version great gameplay

I had all 3 games on the Speccy and loved them, they should have made a Joe Blade game for one of the consoles of the time.
