Haven't been around much lately so I thought I'd post an update. Not that I really care when I have to listen to other people talk about non-gaming things, but.....

I had an ear operation at the end of last month. A couple of days afterward my tinnitus was unbearably loud, but it died down again back to "normal" afer another day or two. Then I had to listen to the world in mono for 3 weeks as I had cotton wool in my ear.  I had this removed last week and was shocked at how loud everything was. It's still lacking some clarity and having the balance shifted to my left ear (my right ear used to be the good one) is something that's going to take a while to get used to, but...the world is louder. Louder than I remember. Which sort of brings me onto the second thing.....

I hate summer. Don't like the heat. Don't care if you do, I don't. Fans on, windows open - still can't stay cool. Horrible. And now when I open the window (see above paragraph) I hear people mowing the lawn or hammering things (fuck knows what into fuck knows where for fuck knows what reason) and their stupid noisy kids or their dog barking. Can't sleep with the fan on either because it's too loud now. Either stay inside and shut up or piss off to a hot country if you like the heat so much. "Summer is not my friend. Satan, let it end".

I'm generally pissed of by people at the best of times, but especially so these days (see also: royal baby nonsense). So I don't really have the patience to hang around in IRC anymore with the ridiculous things people talk about. Even something I like - retro gaming - is pretty much limited to Twitter and the occasional post on RG.
