I started watching The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. I recorded this but had not had a chance to watch it until now. It's a miniseries that is 9 episodes long. So far, what I have seen I have liked (I'm 3 episodes in). The series is being criticized as being more of a biography of Andrew Cunanan that uses Versace's name as a way to attract viewers. This is probably true since the name Versace would certainly make more viewers curious than the name Cunanan.
A lot of this series was shot in Miami Beach, so it was cool for me to see places I recognize. I have even had the chance to visit Versace's mansion as there is a restaurant in there now and I was invited to go. I have to say, that it is quite the home. Beautiful in many ways. As I watched the series, it was cool recognizing many of the rooms and areas of the house I had the chance to see. Unfortunate story, though. I was already living in Miami when this happened.
