There's a new animated Superman movie coming out:  Superman Unbound.  I've seen a couple of clips floating around and thought I'd share here.  I think it is quite interesting that DC has managed to do much better with animation for their heroes than they've done with live action up to now.  I'm hoping Man of Steel changes that tide.  :)

How did you get it?  I thought it wasn't going to be released until next week.

I think it is quite interesting that DC has managed to do much better with animation for their heroes than they've done with live action up to now.

Indeed, at least since the first X-Men movie Marvel has dominated the big screen. Superman I & II and the Batman movies were hits before Marvel had any (remember the horrible old Marvel movie Cap America?), but after Batman & Robin flopped Marvel took over with countless great ones.

With animated stuff though, Marvel could never hold a candle to DC eversince Batman: TAS. The DC animated shows you can watch even as an adult, they have good stories and moments of calm... with Marvel shows like X-Men and Spider-Man from the 90ies it feels like they squeezed too much action and dialogue into the short episodes, it all appears rushed. Not to mention the better animation DC had thanks to the simplified style.

I did enjoy the early 80ies Marvel cartoons more than the DC cartoons of that time though.

Don't get me started on the current Marvel animated superhero shows.  They suck!  DC still rules with animation.  They really need to let those teams work on developing stories for live action movies.  I mean, Green Lantern First Flight kicks ass compared to the live action Green Lantern movie and it is also an origin story.

Minerals you didn't get it from the Torrent, eh?  ;)
