When I bought my last phone it came with one of those Fast Chargers. I generally just used it for my phone and nothing else, but one night a few months ago I needed to charge my Xbox One controller and the fast charger was right there so I plugged it in. I was watching a movie so the controller was off, but when I went to turn it back on to pause the movie it wouldn't do anything. I tried changing battery packs and tried putting regular batteries in and nothing worked, it was dead. I couldn't prove it but I had a hunch it was the fast charger so I made a mental note to never use it with anything other than my phone.

This past weekend I had both the fast and regular charging cords beside me and I needed to charge another Xbox One controller. I meant to plug in the regular one, but grabbed the fast plug by mistake and plugged it in. The controller was turned on this time and it instantly turned off. Also there was a very noticeable burnt electronics smell coming from it this time so it obviously fried the controller.

So yeah, if you have one of these chargers, don't be an idiot like me and use it for anything other than your phone. Controllers aren't cheap!
