Pinball Jam.

Fans of pinball, here is a title for you on the Atari Lynx – Pinball Jam! Pinball Jam has two different tables to choose from: Elvira and the Party Monsters and Police Force. The Elvira table is, of course, based on the movie star Elvira Mistress of the Dark. Elvira herself appears on the title screen for the table and she is at the centre of the table. In fact, I think it is funny how the gap between the bottom flippers is in between her boobs! The game even has the digitized voice of Elvira with numerous samples based on the action taking place on the table (i.e., leaving so soon? when you lose a ball) The music on this table is most appropriate and the sound effects are excellent. Where the table runs into issues is with the visuals.

Though nicely created, the contrast between targets and background objects sometimes make it hard to know what you are hitting. The table does scroll well, however, and the physics are done properly. You can nudge and even tilt the table. Personally, I enjoy this table the most out of the two table in the game. In Police Force the table follows the theme of a high-speed car chase as seen in a cop movie. With this in mind, the table has a firing range, gun lanes, police letters, and a machine gun croc hole on it. There is digitized voice as well to add to the fun of the game. This is a really fun title for the Lynx and a very good one to add to any collection.
