Not sure if this is the best section to post this in, but thought this was pretty impressive...

Really makes me wonder what other games the Atari 2600 could do a decent job of, given the right programmer and amount of time.  :)

Moved to consoles section as the 2600 is a console  ;)

I saw this a few days back now and totally forgot to post it here.

I am impressed with the sprites and even more so the music (some of the best I have heard on the 2600) but the platforms could do with a bit of detail.

Wow, the word impressive doesn't even come close to describing this!

Obviously when I say it makes me wonder what other games the Atari 2600 could do a decent job of, I don't mean the Atari 2600 hasn't already got a ton of great arcade conversions (Ms. Pac Man, Moon Patrol, Q-Bert, etc.) but I'd love to see if some of the more slightly complex side scrollers could be ported as well, and how the 2600 would handle them. Looking at this makes me think maybe something like Wonder Boy would be possible as well.

The music really impressed me too, didn't realise the 2600 could handle lengthier tunes like that.  :)

Cool!! It was funny to hear such nice sounds then the hear the standard Atari bloops and bleeps. Thanks for sharing the video!!

It has a few bugs but it is still remarkable to see this on the 2600!

Just played. Not bad. My playing is not as exciting as the video.

LOL  Well, mine wasn't that great but I did finish a couple of sectors of World 1.  :)

Will be interesting to see how this progresses.

So first we have Wonderboy for the 7800 (Bentley's Crystal Quest) and now Super Mario for the 2600, what next Sonic The Hedgehog for the Jaguar or Lynx?  :o

onthinice

I vote for the Lynx. It would be all that Sonic was not on the Gamegear.

TrekMD

Actually, someone is working on Sonic for the 2600 already.  ;)
