Bought a mixed lot of Saturn & PC Engine imports. Some commons/duplicates, but I bought the lot to get:

Guardian Force - Saturn (shmup)
Haunted Casino - Saturn (poorly programmed casino gaming... with anime girls who undress as you win. :D )
Genpai Toramaden - PC Engine (the sequel was released in the US as Samurai Ghost, but this first game was Japan exclusive)

latest bits and my LAST bits I will be getting were 2 Mad Catz Dreamcast blue controllers that just arrived and 2 cheap 3rd party Mega Drive controllers are on the way. That's all I've got now and I'm ordering nothing else. I've purchased a couple pc games for my new machine but they don't really count I guess ;)

good plan... I've been naughty lately using my credit card but I can handle the repayments and I have nearly 2 years of no interest so I'm sweet, I've got a plan to pay it off though don't worry, Jen fell over at work a MONTH before the wedding and dislocated her shoulder, we are looking at hopefully getting some 8/9k or more of compensation, they have already admited responsibility so it should be long before we receive that, pay off all our debt and are even able to buy double glazing for our flat FINALLY! oh god I can't wait for that.... here I go sounding like a grown up again lol

well the company we went with quoted a minimum of 8k and max of £12.5k and M+S have already admitted responsibility. Also I think it depends on the company. M+S are huge and have insurance to cover stuff like this, and a relative of my wife had a similar thing and they settled out of court with something like 20k! so with any luck our situation will turn out nicely. I'm a glass half full kind of guy lol

Who did you work with when your injury happened by the way?

ouch, well I don't know exactly but I guess it will differ from situation to situation, I mean it depends how clear cut a case it is, jen has witnesses, doctors letter because her mum works at her surgery, the accident is in the log book etc did you milk it for all its worth? The amount of stuff the dislocation effected is immense... we can take it literally anywhere we want and apply it to any situation in terms of discomfort, inconvenience etc. big examples are:

Effected our wedding preparations
stopped jen from being able to work for 6 weeks
Jen is still unable to drive and cannot get to work the normal way so she is living at her folks place which is effecting our relationship
she couldn't dress herself at all for 6 weeks and still can't properly with assistance  now
she cant shower or bath properly
can't sleep properly and had to sleep sitting up for 6 weeks, she still cannot sleep on her front or sides etc
can't cook
can't clean
it effected/ruined our honeymoon as she was unable to participate in any activities etc

I mean this is all situational and we will hold some back when they make an innitial offer etc and we can embellish significantly,  but I'm pretty sure we will do pretty well. She's been with the company for 10+ years and so its all going to go in her favour, but time will tell I guess.

hope things get better for you mate on the subject!!

I'm eyeing up Double Dragon 2 on the NES at the moment, I have real fond memories of this. It's a great example of the developers realising the limits of the NES and doing their own thing rather than a straight port. Had a go on it a couple of years ago and was very pleasantly surprised by how good I still found it. Really want a box in good condition though.

I just purchased Donkey Kong 2K for the Intellivision...as well as an Intellivision since I did not have the system.  I figured it was time.

QuoteI was playing that at Retrovision last month, I still regard it as the best game on the NES.

Pretty damn close to the top of my list, that's for sure. Really colourful graphics, early example of cinematic cut scenes and a nice variety of levels. The bit that always stuck out for me was the fight that took place inside the helicopter, seemed very unusual at the time.

We have somebody doing Intellivision reviews at the moment, I am looking forward to reading them.

I went to a retro shop last year that had a stack of boxed games and a system for sale, I was very tempted!

The system I just got has 14 games, so I have some to start with besides the DK2K.  There are some Intellivision games that I'd also like to get since they are unique to the Intellivision.

They are not "retro" yet.  Give it a decade.  ;)
