The Game Brain

Has anyone seen this device before?  It looks a lot like the SuperCharger by Starpath but it is not quite the same.  The Game Brain was intended to be a backup device that allowed you to copy cartridges to cassette tapes, using a standard cassette player. I don't think I've ever seen that before. Cool little device but that would have been pretty expensive back then. Can't imagine they sold very many.

Yes, it is an interesting idea.  I have to wonder how many they sold.  I have to read the article that discusses it (from the link).

I had something of a very crude version of this back in 1981 where by a chip on a circuit board with a audio jack along side you inserted the cartridge for the Atari 8bit computer rather the Atari VCS, and dumping two games onto cassette one was "Computer War" by Thorn EMI , can't remember the other game, but I was bedazzled as well as my father that we could dump a Cartridge ROM to cassette , but needed the dumper inserted in order to play the games again. Wow this brings back memories of myself at the age of 9 years lol..this post has just reactivated the memory. 

I don't think we did many after that as the cartridge catalogue was very small for the A8 at the time, plus the majority of software was on either cassette or floppy disk, but then came along the "Happy Drive" and "U.S.Doubler" now you were cooking 😂

Cool, so there was something like this for the Atari computers as well.  I actually saw one of these Game Brains at PRGE last year in the Video Game Museum display.
