I was trying to think of another one I got quite addicted to back in the day and finally found it. Indy Heat:

Fixed again!

Don't link illegal ROM sites! We can get in a lot of trouble for it!

Sorry, I didn't realise they offered roms! I have administered a self slap to my wrist.

I also love Super Off Road Racer.

Dan Sullivan's Indy Heat was the arcade sequal to Ivan "Ironman" Stewart's Super Off Road they were both by Leland Corp. that later became Tradewest.

I reviewed the ST version recently on here if you want to take a look!

Nice to see you gave it a good score. I remember it being a decent game.

Top down racers are excellent... I have too many favorites to list but the first that I thought of were games like Neo Drift Out, Micro Machines series, and Rock & Roll Racing.

Some decent games on current gen too. Pixeljunk Racers (PS3) is fun overhead view slot car racing with a lot of unique game modes & challenges. And, Rush Rush Rally Racing is a Dreamcast homebrew that's now available on Wiiware.

Another favourite has popped into my head, I imagine caused by the above mention of Rock n Roll Racing. Rare's RC Pro Am on the NES.

Good shout on those, I love the CD-i version of Micro Machines!

I have been after the MD version of Rock & Roll racing for a while but havn't seen one at a good price.

Loads I could mention, Supercars 2, Nitro, ATR, Badlands, Super Sprint, Indy Heat, Super Off Road, Jupiters Masterdrive, Super Skidmarks, Turbo Trax, Roadkill...

And that's just Miggy/Arcade ones, I'll add some more later, one of my fav genres  :D
