Without sounding disrespectful to my long long time love of Atari and its Gaming devisions, but how on earth are they leading in the list?, sure they made some amazing and iconic aracade games, but man, the Japanese companies really showed arcade goers how it was done didn't they? With too many to list here, I'll just focus on the Atari Games.

Atari Game classics

Paperboy
Indiana jones
Marble madness
720
Xybots
Escape from the Planet of Robot Monsters
Apb
Super sprint
Road blasters
crystal Castles
Star Wars trilogy
Stun Runner

And all the others I haven't mentioned, but by Jesus they made some turkeys

Guardians of the hood
batman
Area 51
Blasteroids
Cloak and Dagger
Cyberball
Firefox
Gauntlet Legends
Maximum Force
Mace: The Dark Age
Off the wall
Pitfighter
Road Burner
War Final assault

These games were to many , best forgotten or over looked when they appeared in your local arcade, the percentages of the games listed here are based against the popularity of the game in arcades not my personal preference as I love 90% of them, The likes of Capcom, Sega, Taito and Data East produced better Arcade games and this is not been voted on, so come on people, make it interesting and let's see who actually was the best Arcade Company.

This is a great thread, can't believe I've only just spotted it!
Looking at that list its nigh on impossible to choose! I guess I'd better pick one though...

After a bit of consideration I'm VERY tempted to choose SNK as the Neo Geo machines were always lurking around in corners, out of the way of the big flashy machines, with some gems to be found. Wind Jammers and Ghost Pilots in particular. I guess they were a bit later on though, maybe early nineties.

I can't seriously choose SNK though....can I? Its got to be either Capcom or Sega, although Irem did do R-Type! And Seibu Kaihatsu for Raiden and Viper Phase 1.

Hmmmmm......

Capcom, its got to be Capcom. Street Fighter II and Final Fight. Sense must prevail over nostalgia!

Balls......................?  :39:

Loved the multi cab racers, spent many a £1 on the Sega Rally's which we were lucky enough to have a 4 player setup down the local bowling alley (which is now a Waitrose).
