Whats the Future hold for the GameGadget?

I have now spoken to a few guys behind the GG and i must say i am impressed with what i have heard back, they acknowledge there have been mistakes but overall they admit they like others have been frustrated with the slow release of games and updates.

This is mainly down to copyright issues from what i can gather.. Its a minefield and one they are trying to navigate.. I know some of you probably don't care to much and others i hope do.. Been a while since i was passionate about something like this.

I will use this thread to update you all of any news as i get it.. Hopefully this is where it begins to fulfill its promise.

Feel free to post your suggestions and ideas.

to be honest , regardless of the negative feedback this device has received, with lies about software inbound and this and that not been fulfilled, it may be a little too late to go back on the way they conduced business especially with paying customers, I've never seen this carry on before IMHO by a company trying to sell a professional product, although i have no interest in the Game Gadget, as I have  PSP with cfw and a a320 dingo and these do all the game Gadget can do and allot more..so to me this product should be catered for the new comers rather than the die-hards, as they've already been there and got the t-shirt, again I understand tha of copyright cross overs can take time to research who owns what and come to some sort of a deal, but I think they should of kept it out of the pubic domain until it was really ready to be unleashed, they didn't and now have been bitten in the arse because of it..

I do of course wish them the very best of luck with this product, they are gonna need it, they've scorned allot of people and with Ouyo on the way..what would be the point of buying this? , when you can purchase something much more a larger platform and user base..the pricing structure would have to come to a reality check at some point, as there is allot of higher end handheld android devices doing the rounds that beat this hands down, also the statement of IOS app store style idea was a brilliant one, but come on..who gonna pay 2.99 for a Mega-Drive game that has been comp'ed on about every Sega collection ever made?..these can be picked up today for a fiver, containing 30 games or so?..ridiculous pricing. the games should be about 79p to 1.50 max.. this is retro games not brand new state of art graphics Ipad/Iphone releases..lol

I hope they can turn it around..but I think this would just been another handheld in the market place of 100's of hand held gaming devices..

I saw the new thread on Retro Gamer yesterday saying that they have got a new PR team and have asked RG and Darran for help, quite a suprise considering how badly its been slagged off over there.

It needs games and plenty of them, if it doesn't get any it has no future, it's that simple.

zapiy

Yeah that was a suprise to me.. but i am happy there looking at sorting this out..

All SEGA games (excluding Sonic) are now £1.99

[Developers - Indie/Homebrew content]

Anybody who publishes a game through GameGadget's store will receive a FREE GameGadget.

Its a start and looks like the new PR team mean business.

The gba one is a good'in, as there was lots of home brew down on this that could used on their store that they could give away free, but not allowing the emu to play gba games..but then again this could blow up a nuclear war if Nintendo got word of it :)

zapiy

Yep, doubt this will ever get official support.

Looks like this thing is finally dead in the water after the main boss left the company and the forum has been closed down.

Where you get that from bud?

This was inevitable , I'm afraid ..they brought in that PR guy Andy , I bet he even didn't know they would have he attempt to flog a dead donkey with ideas they would turn the game gadget around or their was a possible a future for the device , this was a death tally to me, they never really had any way or intentions to make this thing happen the way they thought it would, a great idea none the less, but with too many legalities choking it up, it really was completely doomed from the outset..even the gizmodo didn't even attempt to something like this and that was a great little machine even after it was on the ropes And look how that turned out  :)

Everyone been talking about it on RG.

That PR guy Andy also admitted that they had been telling lies all along and in fact they had NO games lined up at all and they hadn't agreed anything with anyone at E3.

I read the game gadget thread and it mentioned nothing other than retro revival begging for a free game gadget on the last post, the others are all basing on guest work..

Am I blind here?
