Going to the final frontier, gaming...

Ha, I bought this last week. Not sure when I will get round to reading it but, what I did read already was fun. Shame the paper used by the publishers is not best quality. Still it should be a good read.
For the record, Alien verses Predator on the Atari Jaguar holds a Guinness World Record!

Ah cool.  Let us know how you like the book.  Perhaps the paper they chose was as a cost-saving measure.  How big of a book is it?

It is 9" high by 6" wide and 3/4" thick. The text size is nice with a fair amount of black and white pictures of the games being discussed. I'll try to read it sooner than later.

Doesn't sound like a huge book.  Still looks like a cool read based on what they posted on that site.

no, it isn't that big and that suits me. I'll have to see how things go this week, got a lot going on but I will try and make a start.

Nor do I and a massive Atari 8bit fan and historian ..we might to contact the author lol.

I have started reading it and enjoying it thus far, I will see what I can cobble together that you can use as a review but I'm not good at reviews (although I do like to express an opinion). I can say this much, the author is very pro Atari and is very keen to explore the best of the games released for the 8-bit line. So far, I have read about the history of these wonderful computers and he explains a number of things quite well and makes references to various sources to back up his explanations. It is written in an easy style and flows nicely. It is both educational and fun. More when I get chance.

Cool.  What you just posted is a form of review so you're doing good already with that.  Nice to see you're enjoying the book.  :)

Yeah, you are conveying the making of a reviewer here without drawing yourself into the front line. So it's definitely the beginning of a great review fella. All you need do in elaborate in more detail to which games the author is talking about, do you agree with this opinion etc.

I personally tend to take both the positives and negatives and give them both opportunity within the review even if I love the book..but this is something I have to get.
