New NES Homebrew - LaLa The Magical
« on: January 15, 2017, 20:05:24 PM »
The Mojon Twins have released a new game for the NES called LaLa The Magical.  The game is freely available as a download from their web page (link below).

The Story
In the ancient ruins (province of Badajoz) lives Lala with her teacher. She is learning magic but still has a long way to go.

“Tell me about the Sky Palace” – asks Lala, and her teacher tells her again about the three Power Gems hidden inside. “I’d love to see them”, but Lala’s teacher would say no… “It’s too dangerous, and powerful magic is required to traverse the palace”.

But now the teacher has left for a few days and Lala is bored… “His Magic Wand should provide a power that’s strong enough to be able to cope with the perils hidden inside the Sky Palace. Problem is, the Wand is locked in a special vault, and the lock is also magical!” Not only she needs to find the key, but become stronger collecting eight magic potions.

Let’s get busy! Help Lala get the Wand and travel to the Sky Palace to find the three Power Gems! Just because she’s bored!

Playing the Game
Use the D-Pad to control Lala. Press A to jump. Avoid the baddies, the spikes and the lava. To get an item, just touch it.

Once Lala gets the magic wand, she will be able to do magic. If you press B, lala will swing the wand, which is pretty useless but scares the ghosts away. If you press DOWN + B or A + B, Lala will create a magic platform under her feet which will last for a few seconds. You can create these platforms mid-air to make your way to higher ledges. Lala only has energy to maintain one of such platforms, but once it has disappeared you can quickly create a new one and chain jumps. You can find a special item which boosts Lala’s energy so she can create two simmultaneous platforms for a short time.

Your success in the Sky Palace depends on the mastering of the art of jumping a disappearing platform just in time to create a new one during the leap, in the right time. Each screen is full of dangers and to advance to the next you will have to open the gate first by means of touching a blue orb located somewhere in the room. Watch the sky, as when the night falls the palace will disappear and you will have to start over, so find the gems as fast as you can! Luckily, if such a thing happens, the gates you have unlocked and the gems you have collected are kept.

Going to the final frontier, gaming...
