Downtime

Sorry for the server downtime, there was a glitch on our cluster (or something like that that crashed the server.. The delay was waiting for out of ours tech support to help.

Any issues please let me know.

All further outage and updates will be announced on our social media as soon as I can update it.

Ah, is this why the avatars and banners are not showing up as they should?  Even after a cache clean up and in both Firefox and Chrome.

Yes it is.  It was combination of PhotoBucket having problems and the site here having problems.  All working now.

Can I request a mass email if it happens again? Sure was lonely out here with just me and the crickets chirping lol. Possibly a time frame on when we'll be back up or confirmation that we didn't get hacked or something.

Sure thing perhaps I need to look at a way of doing that. Sadly the domain expired rendering all access as locked so I could not even do a mass email this time.

I was starting to go into withdrawals!  I emailed Zap to find out what was going on.  I do agree that a mass email letting folks know would be a good thing.

As I say, if the server crashes I can not access any f the database.. Some sites have an external system like twitter but perhaps we can us a blog of something?

Can you create a contingency email acct with Gmail and compile all the current users' emails in a Group called, I don't know, Awesome, and send it that way?

I could do, that would require constant updating but I could do one for staff and then everyone else can use social media?

That is a good idea.  Maybe social media can be used as a backup communication for everyone else.
