Yeah, just one for now. And the only reason I did it was bc I played this for hours at work and got tired of dying all the time lol. This is such a cool version on the 32X! Lots of destruction and explosions. Just the way a game should be :p

As always, break out the hex editor and open your legally dumped rom and search/edit the following strings. Preferred hex editor is Hex Workshop. HxD doesn't find any of these in my experience.

Afterburner:
Infinite Lives
Search: 4E750C6E0010009C6626537888E06100
Change: 4E750C6E0010009C6626537888600400

Infinite Missiles
Search: 83900010526E00B852788D4A53788D66
Change: 83900010526E00B852788D4A53786002

I had invulnerability in there too but that's just... dumb lol
Edit:
Attached the Lunar IPS file to patch the rom. Lips can be downloaded from here.

Here's a cool one I was messing with last night.

Star Wars Arcade:

(Railing torpedoes out nonstop will crash the game, though.)

Infinite Shields

Nice looking game for the time. Had never played it until today and first impressions aren't great lol.

Zaxxon's Motherbase 2000:

Change: 2F3C000000012F00FF26504F11406004
Shadowrunner

Yeah, I tried Zaxxon on the 32X for the first time not too long ago and had pretty much the same impression. Looked good but not much fun to play.

Saturn

Such a waste of what was a great game on the 2600. One of the best for the system imo.
I wonder what the play testers were thinking on this? Like, man this boring lol

Saturn

Yes, trying to get some fun out of this system lol. Was just hacking away at Shadow Squadron but found that it's no fun. Also, Darxide, Kalibri, Cosmic Carnage and Blackthorne are almost unplayable. Ugh!

Went back to Afterburner instead :p

This game is so awesome!
It looks like they pay homage to the movie Top Gun on stage 5. After the plane lands and the crew works on it, it takes off again down the runway. A motorcycle rides down the right edge a la Tom Cruise. May just be a coincidence as the plane lands again on stage 12 but this time it's a red convertible that does the same thing. 8)

TrekMD

These codes are for emulation, right?

Saturn

Yes, I'm playing them in Fusion :)

I load it up, crank the volume and hit esc to go full screen.
Just 'beat' Afterburner. Ends after stage 23. Awesome

I'll look into making patches so the rom can be edited with the click of a button

TrekMD

Nice. Wish it could be implemented on real hardware.  :)

Saturn

So do I, would love that! Not easy like the Sega CD games that could be burned to disk.

I edited the first three posts with patches. Should make it as simple as can be :)
Lips won't recognize .32X files by default so you'll have to hit 'All Files' when selecting.

TrekMD

Exactly!  I wonder if it'll work if I use the flashcart with the 32X in place.

Saturn

That would be interesting to know! If it does, can you post where to buy one?

I just tested the Afterburner patch and it works great.

TrekMD

Sure.  I'll have to give it a try.  Probably won't be able to until after PRGE, though.
