Awesome and crazy all at the same time..

Why if this is legal would you not make them yourself mate?

Figured it might be nice to get a few people collaborating on stuff here.

I just encoded the entire final match (commercials included) from the '97 U.S. Open tennis championships between Martina Hingis and Venus Williams. The video is 1:02:42s long and since the original version was from a VCR recording, this one looks as would be expected.
I chopped it into 4min 50sec pieces and encoded each to burn. There's a 1-1.5 second hesitation between segments, which to me is no big deal and the standard, otherwise the audio loses sync later on. No one has been able to fix the sync issue and some speculate videos weren't supposed to be full length films, only short cut scenes for games so it was not tested/fixed for this kind of usage.
I'm curious what method Video61 will employ.

Anyway, I'm watching this match for the 4000th time since it originally aired.... but on my JagCD this time 8)

I put a 16m 36s full length episode of the 3 Stooges from the PD site on disk without slicing it up and it crashed the whole JagCD after 5 minutes. None of the controller buttons did anything, even # + * to reset.
Will test again and at a higher bitrate. That 145kb p/s looks pretty bad. Again, the source isn't great to begin with but I have to be half a mile from the tv for it to look good.

Cracking work. Your certainly putting the miles in on this stuff at the moment fella. Kudos for that.

Heck yeah and loving it. Re-doing all 4 Stooges videos at the highest possible bitrate to see how far I can push it. About to re encode the original Cinepak intro to see if I can make it look better and also grabbed the RVG intro to replace the original Cinepak one. Want to see if it works at the beginning of RVG specific releases.
It's about 3:30AM here so I should probably get some sleep  lol.

Shadowrunner

You're a machine! Great to follow along as you figure this all out :)

Saturn

Having a great time with it Shadowrunner. Found a project to invest in and doing everything possible to find (new) ways to work with it so almost anyone can do the same. Those with a JagCD and/or Skunkboard. Looking at a bitrate calculator of sorts, encoding at higher quality and using currently available software that's free.
What I've found so far is mind blowing (to me) and if it works, could enable lots of interest and releases for this part of the Jaguar's capabilities. Until now, a lot of this has been mystery but due to a relentless search for info and understanding, it's all being outlined in great detail for anyone who's interested.
The machine can do so much and investigating the cd+g area is next on the project list. 8)
Amazing.

Really enjoying watching you grow through this pal..

I find your thirst for this info and desire to learn something new and share that knowledge a real plus in the current retro scene.

Been meaning to place an order over at Video61 for their JagCD video set, Black Cat Theater collection for a couple of years since I heard about it in a piracy thread. Just bought everything on the page lol.
Can't wait to check these out. If anyone is interested, orders over $40 in the continental U.S. makes it free shipping and some disabled folks are the ones who make these disks so even a small purchase keeps the world turning :)
I contacted Video61 on the 3rd to see how my order was going. Said it'll take a little longer since it was so big lol.
Been five weeks now when originally estimated at two. Must be some tedious work 8) I compared notes with the owner guy Lance, and he said our techniques were very similar, including the 5 minute 'break' to retain the sync.
Awesome.

TrekMD

Cool.  I guess you put them to work harder than usual!

Saturn

Yes, he said no one has ever ordered the entire set at once. Glad I was the first, and so far only one  :D

TrekMD

Well, it gives them experience should anyone else do it!

He emailed and said it would probably two weeks. They had to label each CD and test them. It's a large order lol.
No prob on my end. The guy that has to watch them from beginning to end has the job! Find a hiccup in the last 5 minutes, reburn and start over.
He says there will be additional releases soon as well. Can't wait to see what's on the horizon 8)
I received a tracking number for this a few minutes ago lol.
It appears that 'two weeks' turned into almost two months :D

TrekMD

Very cool!  Good to see them heading your way.
