Lol
Some emulators run quite well, it was funny because a month or so ago Jeff Minter picked up a Gizmondo cheaply and he tweeted how good it was emulating Atari games, heres a couple of quotes

"@llamasoft_ox: @gizmondocentral I must admit I am loving it, Atari 800 games on the toilet, top stuff :D"

Other emulators are hit or miss, snes as would expect runs ok, some games like Yoshis island runs slow, no superfx support, but other emulators are great like Notaz's Picodrive which is actually better than the PSP port due to better ARM CPU support and runs Virtua Racing great (just try VR on a PSP and your see what I mean!)
So overall it's not bad for emulation, sure its getting more outdated now, but in 2006 when Gizmondo Europe went tits up at least we had other games to play!

Sweet.. will have to load the Atari ones on then.

How does the small screen hold up?

Again it's looking a bit dated now, what with these high res screens we are treated to in the last couple of years!
But IMO you can play a lot of games without much trouble, well unless it has loads of text!
