Martijn Gazenbeek (aka: Akira on the bit fix gaming boards) has created something that is certainly jaw dropping, the Varia Cube.  If you're a fan of the Metroid, you should be familiar with Samus Aran's Varia suit.  This was the inspiration that Martijn used to create this hot portable version of Nintendo's GameCube.

Martijn is no stranger to creating lavish portable systems from old school gaming gear.  Just check out his GC Lynx, the The Atari Lynx II GameCube Portable he created in 2014.

As you'd expect, these projects take their bit of time to make.  The Varia Cube, specifically, took a full 10 months to make a reality.  It certainly has some nice specs and it is pretty much a fully functional GameCube that is missing the mini-disc drive.  The system does have composite and component outputs so it can be plugged into a TV with these inputs.

Check out more details, more pictures, and the full specs here:  AUSRETROGAMER.
