OK so i have be doing some threads for different systems asking you to look into your gaming past and throw up a few underappreciated games.. This one is for the Amiga.

I will start.

Leander

I think this is one of the Amiga's most underappreciated games. The game contains some of the most amazing graphics, smooth animation with a music score to boot.

Own: Jaguar, Lynx, Dreamcast, Saturn, MegaDrive, MegaCD, 32X, GameGear, PS3, PS, PSP, Wii, GameCube, N64, DS, GBA, GBC, GBP, GB,  Xbox, 3DO, CDi,  WonderSwan, WonderSwan Colour NGPC

MadCommodore

Never played that but the name does ring a bell.

One game I thought was quite underrated was Pegasus. It's a really slick horizontal scrolling shooter that alternates levels with a Turrican/Rastan style level. It is packed with oodles of parallax and lovely animation. Megadrive quality for sure but for some reason pretty well unknown.

One I don't remember either but that looks stunning and I must hunt that out.

Greyfox

lovely, lovely, I see potential game play videos here, although it's a curse to record Amiga games, you need a monster gfx card to handle the cpu clocks of the emulator,

Here's one I know neither of you heard off.lol..check this out.

Although you may not of heard of them because the game is french, you should check it out. okay I'll give you a dig out.

MadCommodore

Looks quite slick, was it released for the UK at all?

And you're sure right about recording Amiga games. the built in capture is really power hungry. I just about managed to cap some games using Camtasia (slightly less CPU intensive).

There was an underwater themed parallax shoot 'em up I remember playing (not Blood Money or Darius) but for the life of me I can't remember the name.

One game few people have really heard of is Cabaret Asteroids for the original Amiga chipsets, it literally is like playing Asteroids on Amiga MAME (without need for a CPU accelerator) it is that great a conversion and the sound....well that is just beautifully perfect full of rich bass and treble of the arcade.

This is another reason why I'm making my CD32 discs, going through some old Amiga games, some ive never played before and testing they work ok, sure i play some on my amiga emulator, but then i tend to stick to games i have played before, this way i get to play some more obscure games, sure there is plenty of shite (what machine didn't!?) but sometimes some gems appear that sometimes get rated down but you think deserve better and are fun and still play well is what matters.
